start with zaxwerks for ae or try and get a hold of maya and use your vector illustrations from adobe illustrator and import them into maya ...thats what i do

3DMAX can do 3D. I can do it well.

The suggested solutions are all pretty expensive if you ask me for someone who just needs a few animated logos.

For just an animated logo, I suggest Wings 3D (Free!!) or Blender (also free).

I use 3D Studio Max and there are tons of free tutorials all over the web.
