Ok here it is guys my new youtube channel that will be running alongside my photoshop channel here you can expect to see high quality projects and Tutorials taking this 1 to the next level here is the preview of my first tutorial and what you will achieve if you follow it. HOwever trying to work my way around to making it into a 15 min video is working out to be difficult. By the way is this after effects forum thread going to be my own personal thread because I seem to be the only 1 posting in it.

I saw a tutorial based on this however it was also based on using a special plug in that I can not get to work with cs5.5 so all though similar effects a 30 min project turned into an 18 hour project with over 100 layers and elements thrown in and a lot of expression writing for each layer. Once I can get trapcode form to work then it will be a lot quicker and more creative. I am trying to break down an awesome version that I does not use the for plugin but particular however no tutorial exsist and it is very specialist and a lot more work here is the video I am referring to another level to my stuff so it seems as I cant get it right.

I am Blushing now All though I love photoshop I just love playing with After effects more Yes a Project takes longer to create yes there is a lot of waiting around waiting for rendering this 1 took 3 hours to render However because half of it was created in photoshop I used the text the background and the stars as a psd so a still image cut my rendering time down by about 4 hours. and with the new cs5 suite you can import any adobe file and you can also use the layers etc animate illustrator vectors. And I love the fact that the part that was the animated hoogle is just a psd mapped to the alpha channel and I could animate it in time with the music through simple expressions. If you are going to come and join me on my journey into after Effects I highly reccomend getting cs5 or better still cs5.5 which until the end of October is half price.

Oh and watch out for my next project I am going to be recreating the smoke monster from Lost attacking London But I am working on getting a permit to film some random well known locations and seeing if I can get an actual camera crew with high end Hd cameras. I Want to do it to enter an amateur film creator competition next year. THe monster part would not be that hard to create or animate the proble is getting the footage London is busy and you will just have people going about there ordinary business but by the time my short clip will be finished there will be some eveil smoke monster flying through them so I really need to get some major funding to get actors and sections closed off but if I can pull it off then it will be my best work and biggest project to date. I will keep you updated on it.

I want to start AE journey but now for only thing i've done is finding few books and manuals. Time man, time. I need 48 hours in my day. And still i'm wasting too much time for nothing. Paradox.

Yes I have to admit there is not many resources out there to learn it properly it is usually done at film school specialising in it over 3 to 5 years. bUt I just started out with the odd tutorial here and there, video copilot is best for learning the basics and getting free plug ins etc. there are some sites like aetuts.com that have good creative projects. But unlike photoshop you will not be able to walk into a typical library and get a book on it. Or a book shop for that matter. just look for after efects tutorials on the web. They use this software for special effects in big time movies so it really is a limited market. However if you have strong photoshop knowledge then a lot of the controls are similar and tools react the same but in After effects it is a lot more work to do. in photoshop you can paint what you like in matter of seconds in after effects you have to animate it all by key frame jus look for some basic things you you want to do and start there. Download the demo and follow a tutorial if you know photoshop cs5 your quarter of the way there. Not forgetting my new channel mrhoogleman will be starting off with basic tutorials and navigating you way around the software. But an After effects tutorial takes a lot more planningso dont expect rushed daily tutorials.
