No sound with AfterFX CS3

I can load a clip and view it but It plays the picture with no sound.
If I hit the dot on the number pad the sound plays but no picture.
How do I play both together?
Clicking the speaker icon in the timeline did not seem to help.

Try Preferences\Audio Hardware\Settings it will have four boxes with “Realteak HD Audio Output.” selected all boxes see if that works mate?

It shows that i dont have any playback devices in the device manager.

are you using a full version or a free trial copy, or worse a dodgy download?

I assume your just pressing play After effects will not play sound that way you need to do a render preview to load sound and video

Oh yea that was my problem. I was hitting space instead of zero and I didn't know about "render preview".
I also found the following answer on another forum:

"The audio problem make sure you right click in a blank area of the comp window and select Preview/Audio. Then hit "0" on your numeric keypad, not your spacebar to render the comp."
