    Smoothing out motion

So I want to have a background move across the stage to give a scrolling effect as if the "camera" were panning across.

I ran into a problem though because the background moves along choppy.

My document is set to 30 fps.

I know I could slow the motion down which would increase the number of frames from start to finish through the motion and that would eliminate the choppy movement. This would not work because it would slow the motion down to much. I have to cover enough distance over a short enough time span.

Is there a good way to smooth out motions in flash?

    Re: Smoothing out motion

if you put a small amount of motion blur, with the angle completely horizontal on about every other or, third image, this may work. This is a technique used in video to make slow motion look smoother, although not sure It'll work with your project, worth a try though. Good luck.
