Illustrator 9 questions

i've been using photoshop for a while now since version 5 in fact. I do my best work with dark photo manipulations and such . I recieved Illustrator 9 for an earlier Christmas present (the only version my aunt could afford). I've read throught the manual and i plan on re reading it. but i cannot learn that well without tutorials. I've found alot of links but most have only illustrator 10 tutorials can someone help. thanks
