Another photo restoration for Operation Photo Rescue.

Had fun with this one - NOT! Lots of rebuilding and fettling but got it back as best I could:

OPR are happy with the end result, thankfully

    That's truly amazing Beast....

One of the best rescues I've seen.

    A grand well done.

The edges of the side lamp are too sharp... a little soft edges it needs.

Rest is a very nicely executed job... Good one R-M..

I did try that but in the original image at full resolution it's pretty much the same but thanks buddy, was a challenge but they have accepted it and are more than happy with the end result. Thankfully because I accidentally deleted the .psd :(

    Very good job indeed!

How did you manage to rescue his hair?

    Hey SL

I checked the blue channel and got quite a bit of info from that and ended up making my own/adding someone else's. Not ideal but got in pretty much spot on from what I could see. I always find that using the blue channel on damaged photos can reveal lots of info that would otherwise be lost or not visible.

Damn great job with this. Something I wish I could do. I can do alright, but nothing this crazy.
