Eric - Question about DeepPaint I tried to ask this question under your post telling us this is now free but it was a mod only thread. Anyway, I logged onto their site but it did not tell me much about the software. What make this different than just setting up the brush in PS to paint with different colors? Thanks

Eric - Question about DeepPaint DP allows you to paint right on the model. You can rotate the model around in 3d and paint right on it. You can paint 2d in DP if you want to, though. It also has several different maps/channels that you can paint to and see a crude preview as you paint. For example, you can paint on the bump map right on the model as see it as you go. One of the major selling points of DP is Projection Painting. UV maps can't always be perfect, so trying to take care of texture stretching in 2d can be a real pain. Projection Painting takes a lot of that pain away. Another good thing is that you can paint right across UV seams no prob. You might get some artifacting due to interpolation, but easy enough to take of compared to doing seams the hard way.

Eric - Question about DeepPaint Thanks Stroker.Another question. I don't do, and probably never will do, any 3D modeling. Is this plug-in going to be of use then to someone like me who only does 2D photoshop type images?

Eric - Question about DeepPaint Like I said, there's a difference between DP3D and 2D. 2D is for free now and afaik it can work as a standalone or as a psplugin. What it does is add some 3D like paintbrushes to PS so that you come closer to painter etc. I didn't install it myself (I have as good as no plugins installed right now) but I thought I'd share it. more info can be found at righthemisphere (developers) or a quick google search. It seems to be rather popular. BTW: sorry, I didn't know that forum was mod only.
