Just thinking shame the light challenge is done with now have a play on this website just click and drag your mouse for some cool fractal art save the image of your design you like and use it in images setting the blending mode to screen. guessing some of you will have some fun with it. I saved the image and loaded it as a texture in cinema 4d used the texture as the color channel and the luminance channel added 20% fresnel reflection to it and applied it to a sphere with a cloner and random effector added a large soft box over head for render just chose png and enabled global illuminations and got this christmas card design sorted lol

ever had 1 of those days

3 hours spent modelling

9 + hours rendering

Computer cpu and graphics card working almost at 100% throughout the whole time

Options best global illumination settings best anti aliasing settings best everything settings

test random frame renders were perfect just go and check the preview and this is what I get
materials not textured properly they look flat not displaying the nice shiny textures like on test renders

edges may as well have no anti alias applied

Normally I would do standard renders of these and fake in after effects but the 1 time I want to cast shadows and reflections with 100% accuracy this is what I am getting. I am hoping it is just because the buffer is overloaded so cant display it properly in render preview and after 9 hours of rendering I haevnt got the heart to click stop and start again. I just hate having wasted days and this is the main reason I rarely do projects for myself to much frustration, when doing it for clients etc you know the nice paycheck at the end makes it all worthwhile.

Ok venting done any of you had a day like this ie a photoshop project you spend hours on and then scrapped because of a stupid mistake as an example.

Does anyone know if Software Value online is a legit place? I purchased a software download for Illustrator CS6 and they were suppose to send me a link to download the program and an activation code. They sent me a link which did not work and I have called them and emailed them and they will not respond. Anyone know about these guys?www.softwarevalue.com? Any information would be most helpful. Don't know if I should start the process to file a claim to get my money back or not.

Just got confirmation last night that I have been accepted to the Art Institute Online. Gonna be working towards a degree in Graphic Design. I will start class June 6th. AX64 is an IMAGING program with a number of significant differences from others on the market. In some ways its like your typical imaging program but it has some revolutionary features. Like many imaging programs it will first create a BASELINE image and then it will create subsequent INCREMENTAL images. INCREMENTALS are of the active HDD surface changes since the most recent BASELINE or INCREMENTAL image. This gives the application the ability to return the system to any image point in time.

The main feature which makes AX64 different from other imaging applications is its speed. If your able to get into your system, that is, boot into Windows, it can return you to any image or "snapshot" (BASELINE or INCREMENTAL) significantly faster than any other imaging program on the market. All of the other imaging programs will restore the entire back-up set required to get you to your selected point in time. This process can take a significant amount of time depending on how large your protected disk data (OS and data) is.

AX64, uses a unique technology which only requires the restoration of the information that has changed since the point in time being restored to, that is, the difference between HERE and THERE ) this means that the restoration process is very fast.

If your system is unBOOTABLE, then AX64 will function like any other imaging application by restoring the BASELINE and all the needed INCREMENTAL snapshots to return the system to the required point in time.

AX64 can be set to enable automatic snapshots to be taken hourly. These snapshots are merged on a schedule to prevent the back-up set from getting too large. In addition you can create a manual snapshot any time you wish. You can also manually delete snapshots (from within AX64) and the snapshot data will automatically be merged into the next snapshot in the set.

Another excellent feature is the ability to access any file from a snapshot simply by clicking on the snapshot from within AX64 and then navigating to the file in question. The file can then be copied or dragged and dropped where necessary. In addition to this feature snapshots can be mounted as virtual drives if necessary.

Finally, AX64 is EXTREMELY easy to use. The developer has specifically created a program that is easy for anyone, from complete computer novice to serious geek, to setup and forget.

Tech support is by far the best I have ever encountered. There is a free 30 day trial and the program is priced at $39.95 for a single licence. A family pack, which allows the program to be used on up to 4 PCs in the same household is available for $64.95

This is somewhat related to PSG, but I found this website and it is really great!

It's a site where non-profit organizations post about projects that they would like done that need skilled people to do for free. Basically, if you have skills and would like to put them to use for a good cause and so you can add some experience to your portfolio, this is the place to do it!

You check what skills you can offer, including design, social media, blogging, branding, marketing, web development, video, etc. and then choose what causes you are interested in, for example, environmental issues, animals, food, etc. and then you are given a list of projects that fit your skills and interests and you can choose to do them or not.

If the project creator likes your work, you get picked and have your design, logo, whatever, posted and affiliated with the creator!

After looking for full time work in this small town, I finally have an interview for one. Hopefully saying goodbye to the restaurant industry for good. Spent 16+ years doing that crap and getting no where. This new job will be working with Directv. Having owned a Directv system a couple years ago, I am familiar with the product so selling shouldn't be very hard. At least I hope not. I used to do selective selling when I worked for Panera, but that was about 10 years ago. Oh well, just excited about the interview. Since it will be full time if I get it, probably wont be doing much photoshopin, but I will still do it.
