Hi, doodad--
I must apologize to everyone for failing to post a February competition (I'm open for a topic other than drawing leprechauns), and will try to post a March competition . My excuse is sort of private, but here goes anyway. I had a dreadful fiscal 2004, and it's taken me more than a year of working day and night to recoup/recover.
This is my own problem, but I'd like to add that these forums, four of them now under my moderatorship, are intended as free Internet space within which we should share and disseminate info related to creativity. I'm trying my best with the dissemination part, but we all could share a little more, I feel, to make a current, mostly one-way street a series of connecting avenues with info traveling in all directions.
If anyone has any ideas on how to better reach this goal, post it or drop me or Mark a note. Better still, does anyone have a hankering to assist or co-moderate to better prime the pump?
My Best,
Gare
Hi Gare,
Didn't mean to whine or anything. Obviously there are real-life priorities to consider, which everything else should come second to. Let me also express my gratitude for the great contributions you make to this forum.
Hopefully as my skills grow I'll be able to be constructive along with everyone else.
Since the Ides of March (the historic day of Julius Caesar's death), maybe something from the classic age is in order? How about the good old "turn a moviestar into a statue" schtick?
Sounds like a hoot!
Anyone want to offer a Brad Pitt or Brando pic we can statue-ize into Julie? I already have a suggestion or two up my sleeve for doing a marblizing texture over an image area.
My Best,
Gare
