    Bit Size

    Hi,

I have a canon 40D which produces 14 bit files. When working in CS3 the only options for working these files are 8 bit or 16 bit. When I open a file from camera raw it imports into PS and indicates the file as 8 bit. Is there any way I can work on this file in an higher bit rate than 8 bit? My goal is to end up with the best possible files from my camera with as little image degredation as possible.

    Many Thanks

If you click on Image --> Mode, you should be able to change it from 8 to 16 or 32.

I'm really new to photoshop, but I hope this helps.
