Creating a 3D Disc
I am trying to make a 3D looking disc, sort of like this:

or

However, I would like the disc to look as though it is laying flatter (more of a side shot).
Here is where I have gotten so far:

I'm fairly happy with it, but I would like the sides to look more perpendicular to the top, rather than rounded. Another example of what I'm going for is:

but again, more from a side view. Can someone give me a nudge in the right direction? How can I make the sides look flat instead of curved?
Thanks a bunch!
Michael

Please show me ONE image (download it from Google images or post the link) that shows EXACTLY what you want, because now it's becoming confusing for me with 4 images. ;)

Here is what I want, but without the ridges on the sides and these sides are a little too tall for what I want. But I bet I can correct the height if you could help me with the strategy to create it.
I appreciate it

The strokes were only added to make things more clear:

Things get even better if you own Photoshop CS4 Extended like I do, because it allows you to work in 3D. Here's an example:

Yes, that is perfect. Exactly what I wanted. Thank you!
