    Creating a 3D Disc

    I am trying to make a 3D looking disc, sort of like this:

    Glossy Recycling Icon | Royalty Free Stock Vector Art Illustration | iStockphoto.com

    or

    Throwing a Disc | Royalty Free Stock Vector Art Illustration | iStockphoto.com

    However, I would like the disc to look as though it is laying flatter (more of a side shot).

    Here is where I have gotten so far:

    I'm fairly happy with it, but I would like the sides to look more perpendicular to the top, rather than rounded. Another example of what I'm going for is:

    but again, more from a side view. Can someone give me a nudge in the right direction? How can I make the sides look flat instead of curved?

    Please show me ONE image (download it from Google images or post the link) that shows EXACTLY what you want, because now it's becoming confusing for me with 4 images. ;)

    Here is what I want, but without the ridges on the sides and these sides are a little too tall for what I want. But I bet I can correct the height if you could help me with the strategy to create it.

    Things get even better if you own Photoshop CS4 Extended like I do, because it allows you to work in 3D. Here's an example:
