Change colour of white image

Hi guys,

I am trying to change the colour of a selection of an image - in this case a mug. So obviously, I want the mug and the mug only to change colour (and not the area inside the handle).

The mug is white meaning I cannot adjust the hue/saturation.

Any suggestions?!

You may try using a solid color fill set to multiply and use a layer mask.

Got a color that you would like it to be?

make a selection of the mug copy and paste it to a new layer add a hue saturation adjustment layer with a clipping mask slight bring the lightness darker slider down to darker end check the colourise box and then play with hue and saturation sliders

here is a rough template to show you but you may want to make a better selection I only used the quick selection tool
