Using "Paste Into" with multiple layers
I am creating a wood grain texture that has a diffuse and bump layer. I want to paste both layers "into" a selected area of a UV map. Can this be done with both layers at the same time using "paste into"? I have tried using groups and also tried linking with "paste into" with no luck. Once pasted I also want to be able to manipulate both layers at the same time. I have searched all over and haven't found an answer. I am using CS4.
Thanks,
Kevin

Re: Using "Paste Into" with multiple layers
Open both images. Select multiple layers in the layers palette, then just drag onto the other image. Or put them into a folder and drag the folder to the other image.
Link the layers to manipulate them together.

I can do that, but I am unable to use "Paste Into" and automatically create a mask. Any other ideas?

Re: Using "Paste Into" with multiple layers
You need to understand how it works. Both Paste Into and Paste Outside only work with selections.
In order to work from one image to another, you need to copy from the source image, then make a selection in the target image, then do Paste Special-Paste Into. It will then paste and add the mask, but it will not even be an option unless you make a selection first.
Hope this helps you.

Re: Using "Paste Into" with multiple layers
OK, I do follow you - I have been using Photoshop for over 8 years. I have no problem using "paste into" when it is a single layer we are dealing with... My question was how to "paste into" multiple layers at one time...

Re: Using "Paste Into" with multiple layers
If you are trying to end up with mutiple layers from Paste Into, I don't think there is any way to do so. You can select multiple layers then make a selection from them, but when you Paste Into you'll only have one layer and a mask, not multiple layers.
In order to do what I think you're trying to do, you'd have to copy and Paste Into each layer separately.
