Colour Replacement Only Replaces Luminosity ?

I'm trying to replace a colour in PE9 (Enhance > Adjust Color > Replace Color) but it's only replacing the luminosity, not the colour.

For example, I'm trying to replace a pasty white with full red (255,0,0) and it just comes out grey....

I can't find any switches for 'color/luminosity/hue' etc

    Any ideas ?

i dont know elements, but in photoshop it's just a hue/saturation adjustment over a specific area

How can you make it replace the whole thing - colour and luminosity ?

im not sure what your asking, those controls are part the same adjustment in cs5, and hue is the one you want

well i don't know, but in full photoshop it would be best to use either a levels adjustment, or a curves adjustment

but have no idea what it is for elements

and most of the people on this forum have never used elements

    try this
