"Advanced RenderMan" (the book) has a section on this. Basically there
are three kinds of reflection maps: spherical (latitude/longitude)
maps, cube maps, pay day advance and flat reflection maps (for reflections in flat
surfaces, using texture() in screen space rather than environment()).
Sperical maps are easy to assembleno fax payday loans in photo editing software or paint
by hand, or they can be produced by ray tracing. Cube maps and flat
maps can be rendered as a pre-pass.
