One comment about WinRar. Make sure that you have the latest version.
The RAR format has changed a bit a while back and if you try use an old version of WinRar to unpack files that are packed with the most recent version of the program, you might get a message saying that the file is currupted, which is not the case.

I think the format changed around version 2.9, but I'm not sure.
If you want to be on the safe side, then you have to use a version that starts with 3.x .
