Yes iDad you need a host, to host the files you have, so that your site can be shown on the internet, who did you buy the domain from? as they may also have a hosting account, also try looking out for a free built in website creator with the hosting package, this will help you alot as well. A very nice free website is wix.com You have there the posibility to build your own web site by a user friendly flash interface. It¡s really good and free.
