digital images of battle standards

Hello all,
I would like to turn some battle flags on some photographs into digital images that can be used on stickers etc or as prints for flags possibly in the future. Obviously as stickers a lot of the minor detail will dissapear but as larger images i would like the small detail to appear to so the images are as close to the real thing as possible.

One of them is a straightforward two colour one athough colours are faded .
