pdf tutorials for photoshop

I have been asked by people on this forum, as well as other forums, to do some tutorials on how I create some of the effects I do. Seeing how I use many 'unconventional' techniques, I find it difficult to accomodate these requests in the form of a short tutorial. I have, over the years developed layer styles, textures, brushes and contours that are essential to the design of these images. I also converge various apps such as ZBrush, Bryce, Illustrator and Xara.
This being the case, I am thinking of doing an in depth tutorial in a multi-page PDF book that could be downloaded and read in Acrobat Reader 7. This would possibly be a precurser to an actual printed book, depending on the response. Being retired now I have the time, and interest to put together something really informative and off the beaten path regarding alternative techniques in Photoshop. I had considered a web site to accomodate this venture, but I'm old and too dumb and don't know how to build one, get it hosted, and maintain it. So the question is, once I complete the first pdf book, how do I get it out there? It will be too big a file to post in a forum, given the usual restrictions on document size and file type. It could also, loosely, be considered SPAM because it may lead to a published book and some promotion of software and various 3rd party plugins. Hopefully, someone who has some experience in this sort of thing can offer some advise. If so, please either e-mail me at ' rmdsgn@comcast.net ' or PM me here
Thanks RM

Re: pdf tutorials for photoshop

That's a super idea, Ron. I know that I, and many other members of this community would love to see some of the master's recipe book.

If you're thinking setting up a site, to merely host the pdf, you might want to first try the use a free file hosting service such as http://www.filefactory.com/ . That way you could get an idea of traffic, and save you the effort, expense and time of setting up and maintaining a site. Of course, a site may become a fun hobby unto itself.

A good idea, Ron.

You know this could provide a new outlet for ideas - first your pdf book, and then perhaps a joint creation by members of this forum?
For a start there's a lot of tutorials here that could be assembled into a manual.
