    Some thoughts/questions/ideas

Several of the other VB-powered boards have a few little extra fillips which I personally find useful and which do help winnow the chaff from the wheat:

    • Ability to edit one's own post: Especially useful for fat-fimble-fungered people like myself who eiter cannot splee or their syntax to pay forgotten again have. In my case, at least, this is presently turned off.

    • Ability for the OP to mark the thread as "closed" or "solved"... lets subsequent readers know that there really IS 'balm in Gilead' after all!

I like the ability to say "THANKS" and to add to someone's karma thereby. I'm not sure it does anything else, but it's nice to see the "thanks" count as a sort of measure of confidence in a potential answer. Don't know why more "trouble" boards don't use that.

Very glad to have found the board and hope to be of some help as well as having my idjiit questions answered for me.

    Edit your own post:
As it's currently set up a user can edit there own post after 30 posts.

    Lock your own post:
We feel that even after the OP's question may have been answered, further conversation on the subject may still be helpful and useful to other members.

    Aha! Danke!

Not "lock" the thread but "mark" it as solved or "closed". The act of marking it so may then be taken to mean "the problem enumerated IS and has been solved to the OP's satisfaction in this thread". Further postings are still possible (and- all too often -required) to present a different insight or solution.

However, it's always up to the "mods and sods" as to what gets implemented.

To close a thread is to lock a thread.
I'm not aware of a VB option marks a thread as solved or closed.
You may want to contact admin and see what he says.

There is a thanks button right below your text box. If you don't see it, better check with admin. Yes, it feels good to be thanked and to thank someone. So thank you
