About LinkBacksso in the past I've tried to give the effect of light glowing out of something,, and never found a tutorial on the particular effect I was looking for, I've done it in the past but it never looks very good and isn't very convenient.
here is a manipulation I did in the past to show the effect, the blue lights coming from the vent is what I'm referring to.

Hi Tain, I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you looking to make that blue have more of a "glow" look to it?
Right now it looks good and you did a great job on the shadows in that blue area, but it looks more opaque than like a light.... is that what you want to change?

yes, I want to make that effect appear as more of a glow.
