Trying to recreate what I did.....

I was playing with a photo awhile back and really liked the outcome but I have never been able to recreate it because I can't remember the order in which I ran certain actions, did I drag layers over and under each other to achive different looks? etc.... I have the PSD file which shows all the layers but when I try to follow what is listed it does not come out even close which tells me I did actions in a certain order and THEN moved them around. Does anyone know a way that I can find out what I did and recreate it?

    Check in Edit|Preferences|General.
    Is History log checked?
If not, I don't think there's any history record or log of what you did.

You can turn on logging of the steps you take in PS with the method Steve suggested.

If you don't have it turned on and you want help re-creating some changes, post the before and after pics.

You may also want to set how many steps the history tool will record, i think default is like 10?? maybe more but what ever it is, it's not enough...

Yea that's one of the first things I set in Photoshop. I have mine at 100... it uses more memory but I have enough to go around

I like a large history pallet too but once you close the file it's gone.
The OP said it was something he worked on "a while back ".
