How to, "Welcome to Manchester" poster
Hi,
I'd like to make a similar picture to this picture:

Does anyone know how I can achieve the white negative effect on the player?

'fraid not.
I can do it by first using good old PAINT
open in PAINT then save the image as monochrome bitmap.
Then save again as jpeg.
Open the jpeg in photoshop and use the paintbucket tool to convert the black/white to the 2 colours you want.
(paintbucket tool in PAINT not as good as the one in photoshop)

it looks like they took the highlights of an image, and filled them with white, then scrapped the rest

All i did was create a new layer of the cut out player, used threshold to make it look like required, then changed the black to blue filled in background with same blue added font.
