Block Shadows, surely it cant be that difficult!!?

I am wanting to add a block shadow to some text in CS2..
I have tried many different ways but i only seem to be able to get a drop shadow, not a block shadow (extruding shadow)

Surely it cant be that tricky to do it? Can it..

Any help appreciated.. I am sure it must be simple.. I'm no photoshop virgin, but this has stumped me!

As far as I know, you're just going to have to do that by hand. I'd recommend starting with a drop shadow then using the pen tool on paths to fill in the extra space.

I just tested it and got this (first attempt), so if you try hard enough you should be able to get just what you're looking for.
