Thin Blue Line
Hi, when opening a new photo from the File Menu, a thin bluish green line appears in the center of the pic vertically. Another has a crosshair effect with the same thin blue line. Smaller pics are free of this annoyance. I'm certain it's some setting I've inadvertently activated. Any suggestions?

Is it a guide? If it is, click View-Show-Guides to turn it off, or use the move tool to remove it.

Re: Thin Blue Line
It sounds like a guide line but there shouldn't be any guides when you open a new image.
If hawkeye's suggestion didn't help you may want to try updating your video driver.

Problem solved. it was the guides. I have no idea how they got on these particular photos but "clear guides" took care of it. Note: after clearing the guides and closing the pic, PS asked if I wanted to save... I did; now they open without guides.
Thank you very much. You are a fart smeller. I mean a smart feller.

If you had Ruler up on your image, you could have accidentally grabbed a guide and dragged it onto the image without knowing it. It happens to me sometimes. I use the waccom tablet ever now and then, when I do it.

To open a new photo from the File menu, a thin blue-green line appears in the center of the picture vertically. Another has a focus with the thin blue line. Small photos are free of discomfort. I'm sure it's a creation that I have inadvertently activated.
