Photo disapeering after importing
Today I upgraded from CS3 to CS5, and so far I hate it. The main reason, is because I cannot view my pictures as zooms that I wish. I have a 64bit processor and over 75% of my harddrive is freespace. I shouldn't have problems with not enough memory or RAM, and CS3 worked PERFECTLY.
In Photo1 below, you can see that I have one layer open, the picture (look at the navigator screen) is open. However, at all zoom levels EXCEPT 100% the canvas shows - not the picture. When I have that image detached from tabs and just hovering, and am ACTIVELY moving the window around on the screen, I can see the full image.
Is there a reason why this is happening? A quick fix to it? It is quite possibly one of the more frustrating things I've faced with a photoshop!!!

Re: Photo disapeering after importing
Two things to try.
1. Go to Edit|Preference|Performance and uncheck Enable OpenGL Drawing.
2. Update your video driver.
Even if #1 worked update the driver.

Re: Photo disapeering after importing
I do believe that #1 worked, Steve! Thanks a lot! Now, wjust out of curiosity, what did I do to my preferences? What does that mean - the OpenGL Drawing? At least, I think it worked; I imported two photos this morning (waiting to go to work, so not lots of time to mess around with them) but they both opened flawlessless, and the zoom was much quicker.
I'll ask the boyfriend about the vidio driver tonight. He's in IT and probably knows how to do it unlike poor lil' 'ol me.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, STEVE!!!!

Re: Photo disapeering after importing
You're welcome, I'm glad it worked for you.
This setting doesn't do anything to your preferences.
Click HERE for a video that explains what OpenGL does for you.
