70% opacity file: how do I save for the web

I am creating a background for a web image that is straightforward: 70% opacity rectangle. It can't be 100% opaque

I tried the 'Save for Web' option and saving into a .jpg and .gif format and it's making the image loose this key 70% opacity. What's a way to save this?

Is your intention for the image to be transparent enough to show a color or image behind it or just to fade the image down?

Save for web&devices.... png-24.... make sure the transparency box is checked.....

It may save as a huge file....

Flatten the image after you do your layer opacity adjustment and save either thru normal save as or save for web..... you'll be ok.

Save the image as a .PNG file with the Interlaced option checked(make sure the background layer is disabled) and you'll have no problems
