Re: WARNING - PS new plug-in

Well Lee, seems you're the extract/Knock Out filter guy around here, so I'm taking your word for it, snd giving this "seemingly" over-priced bit of software a pass.

Not, that in my case, do I have use an extract that often, but when I do, native PS techniques and tools have always done the trick. But thanks for the heads-up.

Hi Lee
Sorry to warm up this topic again, but I just came across it today. So sorry to hear that you did not receive a reply when you tried to contact Vertus, the creator of Fluid Mask. I actually work at Vertus and I'm surprised an inquiry has been unanswered, but maybe all that just happened before I started.

Anyways, just wanted to say this should not happen again. I'm taking care of support inquiries myself also making sure that inquiries are followed up internally so that nothing is getting lost etc.

Are you still using your copy of Fluid Mask at all? Maybe I can help? Would you post or send me an image that you had difficulties with? Sometimes it's just a small change in using the tools in the software that makes the difference.
Also, version 2 is coming out in a few weeks - definitely worth having a look at the new demo once it is released.

Greetings,
Katfish

Re: WARNING - PS new plug-in

An update for everyone's education on this product and the company who sells it.

As you can see, Kathrin (Katfish) was quick to come on this board and try and do some damage control about her companies product, Fluid Mask. She even emailed me after her post asking what she could do to help. She states in her post that, "...I'm surprised an inquiry has been unanswered" and "Anyways, just wanted to say this should not happen again." She mentioned how she was now taking care of support inquiries.

Bottom line is that she is evidently new at the company and very unaware of how things are done there. I answered her email with a list of what had happened and how I had been treated. That was a week ago now and she has done exactly what others at Vertus have done........ignored problems and anyone who is not happy with their product or how they were/are being treated.

Once again I urge you, thank very carefully about plunking down $249 for this software.

Re: WARNING - PS new plug-in

UPDATE 2:

I finally did get an email from Kathrin at Vertus. She explained that she has been very busy and apologized for the delay in our communication. She honestly does seem interested in repairing any customer service damage that has been done by other employees. I believe her. Version two of Fluid Mask will be coming out in a few weeks and she says there are many positive changes. Those of you who are interested in software that extracts objects from there background might want to give this new version a try. The trial download is obviously free. I know I will be looking forward to seeing it as I believe the product has potential over and above the first release.

Re: WARNING - PS new plug-in

Lee

Greetings from Ireland.? I too am a user of Fluid Mask and I am finding it hard to get a clean cut out.? Usually the edges have a fringe? which is very annoying.? ?Can you give make any pointers on this problem, please.? ?I have looked at the tutorials but found them not very clear.? .

I have also used both Mask Pro 3 and Knockout 2 and have not found either of them to be very satisfactory.? ?I would appreciate any comments you might care to make.

Have a nice day and thanks.
