WARNING - PS new plug-in

I took a gamble on a new plug-in that is supposed to separate (knock-out) whatever subject you want from it's background. It competes with Knockout 2 and is called Fluid Mask. The tuts that the company has on their website make it look very cool and very easy. Well, first hand experience shows that the program is not what it's cracked up to be and the company is less than helpful when you contact them. So, buyer beware if you are thinking of buying this program. Stick with Knockout 2. It is light years better than Fluid Mask.

Re: WARNING - PS new plug-in

Dang, Lee, I'm sorry to hear that because Fluid Mask is expensive, even with the recent price drops.

Thank you for the warning, though.

That's too bad Lee, sorry to hear that.

Can we have a link to that plugin please?

Re: WARNING - PS new plug-in

I'm also sorry to hear of your problems with Fluid Mask Lee. We've used it at work since the summer and have had no problems with it. On the other hand we've never had to contact the company either, so can't speak for their customer support. It really is a shame since you were so enthusiastic about it at the start.

Not to sound ignorant Lee, but are you sure you're using it correctly and to its full potential? Do they provide any tutorials for it? That might help.

Hi theKeeper,

Vertustech provide a manual and a full set of Quicktime tutorials which are pretty comprehensive and actually demonstrate how to use Fluid Mask, how to make, apply and adjust masks and how the software actually performs the cutout. I can't understand why after being so pleased with it Lee has suddenly changed his mind?

Re: WARNING - PS new plug-in

I was pleased with it's potential when I first saw it. The key word in that sentence is potential. I spoke too soon. And the big thing for me was that besides the program not living up to it's potential the company virtually ignored me when I had problems. That's a MAJOR problem for me.

Price going down on a new product...says something but I'm not sure what?
Send it back! There is bound to be some sort of return policy.

Re: WARNING - PS new plug-in

Nada, Lasa. No returns on software. My loss. That's why I'm trying to warn others to be careful if they are considering this product.

The price is going down because they are having trouble selling it.
