    Selection adjustment technique

You know how when you try and resize or adjust a selection on an empty layer you get " could not move the selection because the selected area is empty".
PS has a way...simply go to Select / Transform selection...
now you have all the transform options available..(Image / Transform)
So in fact you can distort, skew etc. a empty selection until it fits!
    Hopefully this tip helps somebody,

Yeah, I use that all the time. For example, when I want to make a eliptical selection, and I want to make it go diagonally instead of horizontally or vertically.

Hmmm, I use the transform selection all the time but never thought about transforming a selection on a transparent layer. That may come in handy.
