    Web-Site design advice!

    Hello All!

I have begun work on a web site for myself concerning ancient Egyptian relics. Would like to read your comments and advice concerning my design attempts on this site. I have put together an index page which will be the first page of the site and could use some help and suggestions on refining the design. The web site will be small with only three main links initially.

Would like to know if the subject matter of the site is clear or not on this first page and your ideas concerning the layout of the page so far.

    Thanks for your input!

I like it, and am curious as the pentagon also refers to the sectio aurea (the diagonal from the midpoint of one side to the square to the corner on the opposite side).
Please warn me when your site is online.

The only thing I would change in the design is that I would add a black strip at the left-hand side also. One on the top, same width left and right, and a larger on at the bottom. Perfect classical design.

I love that barely visible "hathor" at the right-hand side!

    Eric,

Good idea about adding the black border area to the left, top & bottom sides. Yea, that will definitely help refine the look more. Will do that later today and update the site.

I see you are also interested in the ancient geometrical arts and sciences. Cool!

Will be sure to let you know when my site is up.

Still am interested in reading any further suggestions and input from other web enthusiast here at the Forum.

    Very nice

I love the subject matter. A buddy of mine has turned me on to a couple of books dealing with symbolic geometry (we both belong to the Masonic Lodge). It's quite enlightening stuff.

    I'll stop by again.

It is a very fasinating subject to say the least. I began exploring this ancient aspect of geometry about 5 years ago on my own and am still very drawn to it's insights.

Thanks for your positive input on my site.

    Hiyas anepu!

The one thing that I wanted to comment on was your usage of the mouse-over effect for your links.

Perhaps try changing the font color instead of the size or weight of the font. On some lower resolutions, the shift could cause the page to "jump around" as the page accomidates the font shift.

Other than that, it looks nice.
