Designing my first web page.
I am in the process of designing my first Web page and am confused about making it compatible with all the different web browsers. Can you help?

Try to make your site compatible with W3C. When you do that, your site will most likely display well on major browsers.

Html
I second the w3c suggestion. However, crossbrowser HTML/CSS is no easy task.
If the project matters at all, I would find a pro to chop your PSD into XHTML, or you can use a Managed CMS Service. There are a handful out there, I just linked to the only one I can recommend personally.

I don't understand your comment, because which browser he uses has nothing to do with making a site compatible with multiple browsers.
