Guys in my video..someone is talking really low..and in one instance i want the text to say what she is saying basically..

like basically she says..."Don't tell anyone, I wont tell anyone"...and as she's saying this id liek for it to come on the screen...

What do you call that and how do you do it?

I usually do it via my video editing software, I use Camtasia.

However, you can add annotations via Youtube video manager and create speech bubbles at the time it is required to pop up.

There is a an "Add Title" option in premiere pro.

You can decide on location - position in the timeline and length of time the title appears.

Have a look at this tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tozK5ev-9fE

So its all about duration? I know how to add text..but to make the text appear as she speaks...is there another functionality or certain manipulation i can use.....or is it just adding the text and putting it in the time line for a certain amount of seconds or milliseconds perhaps?

OK. So basically, I have all my text lined up at this point. If there is an easier way to do it besides still images please let me know.

So my question now becomes, how do I make each still text image the same duration in time so the text can flow as if someone is saying it really fast?

Here is the image of how i get the text lined up:

First of all let me say I am no expert in Premiere - this is just from some small level of experience, so there may be someone with more knowledge that can chip in!

I am pretty sure there wont be a way to automate this process so yes I would say you need to create your piece of subtitle for each bit of speech that you want and then add it manually. This would involve scanning through the video clip, finding where you want the "title" to appear, placing it and then deciding on a duration. I am afraid only you can decide how long the text is on the screen for. Remember you can have more than one title appear at a time - so for example you could have the first part of the sentence appear from say point 1:10 - 1:15 and the second part of the sentence appear higher up the screen (so just above the first part) from 1:13 - 1:18 - some viewers find this easier to read if the speech is quite fast.

Also - looking at your screen shot - I would zoom in on the time line, which would make the placing of the titles easier and more accurate.

Cheers

John
