Nice work! The clouds are a bit dreary, but having lived there, it's pretty common! Kinda reminds me of the River Alde near Aldeburgh.

Technically, the tweak of the original is competent work, and it's definitely fun to see how such changes work visually in various situations. My problem is that this quasi-HDR look is getting old. It's sooo... 2008. LOL! It's especially bad news when it is applied to an image that, without it, would probably not command much attention.

I think this is the general feeling among photographers, but use of the HDR look has become so widespread that it's becoming a cliche even outside of the photography community -- among the general public.
