Painting shading, shadowing help

I'm trying to paint a cornhole board if I can't find a design, and I don't really know how to do shadowing. Like if I wanted some shadows and shading to make the paint look abstract, how would I go about doing so.

Hey daddy, welcome to the forum. If you're doing all your work in Ps, look at tutorials on the art history brush to get an abstract painting appearance, or if you need it quickly, try the palate knife in the filter gallery. That might help. - --- Agent Moeller
