Download the zip file, unzip and place the script in the relevant folder.

PC:- C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS#/Presets/Scripts/
Mac:- [hard drive]/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS#/Presets/Scripts/

If Photoshop was open close and restart it.

To run the script:- File - Scripts and select the script.
Good luck.

Great!

I thought that this could be done with a script. Let us know how it works out.

As always in Photoshop there are a few ways to do the same thing, hopefully this should be useful.

Create your own template by:
Create a document of the size and resolution you require.
Use File - Place to select a document.
Resize and move to where you want it.
Delete the Background layer.
You now have a template that you can use with that size document.
With a template open run the script.
The script will prompt for a new document to replace the Smart Object
Then create the other quadrants.
The script should work on Landscape and Portrait templates.
Good luck.

OK, so I have followed the instructions and it all works fine up to the point where I run the script,

I have the picture size and have deleted the background layer
When I click File>Scripts>Split Picture, I am prompted with a "Please Select Image" dialogue box
If I select the document from earlier, the script creates 3 new layers that are empty and that's it.

Am I missing something, If I do a print preview, it is just the original picture that I loaded.

Cheers

The three new layers should be the quadrants that are added. I wonder if you have a graphics refesh problem?
Have you tried turning the visibility on/off on one of the layers?
If this works you could try turning open GL off in the preferences to see if that helps.
Also check you have the latest graphics driver.

Thanks Paul MR, I'll give that a try. Unfortunately I won't be able to try until Sunday as we have taken a last minute trip on the caravan.

I will report back.

Thanks

OK...

I've modified Paul MR's excellent script a little to make it simpler to use.....hope you don't mind Paul MR.

INSTRUCTIONS: (Pay attention coz its a bit tricky like!)

1. Open your image.
2. Run script.

That really is it.

Sorry for the long explanation....its about as easy as I can make it.

All credit to Paul MR in the first place though, nicely done.
Follow the previous directions to install and run.

Modified Script:

Hi MrTom

Sorry for the delay in responding, we had a last minute get away in the caravan so was unable to test this until this morning.

Thanks for the modified Script, and of course Paul MR for the initial masterpiece.

This works a treat, however I would like to shuffle the quadrants around if possible, please see Post 15 (and Post 2 for Quadrant labels) in this thread.

If you could amend this then I think we have a winner.

Kind Regards

Hi All

I have had a go at amending the script to re-arrange the quadrants but have only managed to successfully move one of them, the others either don't move or simply disappear.

Is there anyone who could assist?

Cheers

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, had some issues to deal with thanks to the recent storm.

That's great MrTom, Just what I was after.

It works perfectly.

Thanks also to PaulMR for the original script.

The help provided by all is greatly appreciated.

Very Kind Regards

No worries.

Didn't realise you were up in Sunderland.....been a bit rough up there eh?

I'm in the Midlands and it was pretty gusty here but nothing compared to up North.
Looks like we need to brace ourselves for a second sitting too!

Regards.

I hope not, had to fight the insurance company as they weren't going to pay out. Don't think I would like that fight again :)
