Hi there, I am trying to design a pattern with different peoples names in (You can see a rough one I did in the image below, all the 'NAME HERE''s are on seperate text layers) and would like to know if there is a way to update all the type (i.e. change the 'NAME HERE' to actual names) at once? I know you can link the layers and press shift to edit the formatting but I want to update the actual letters. Any help would be greatly appriciated :)

yes you can by using smart objects

you have to make the first text a smart object

then all the other layers are copies of this smart object
that you can transform rotate and move and layereffect

if you want to change the text just dubbleclick on the smartobject-miniature
it opens your text as "my name .PSB" and you can make the text change and close it

just have a look at this PSD
