How can I create a wavy background like in this image?

Hey Nena, there could be many ways to do this, for me on this one, I would use my Pen Tool to make several wavy brushes. I would then use the brushes, layer opacity, layer modes, brush modes to create the image.

Do you know how to create your own brushes?

Hi IamSam, thanks for your answer! No, I don´t know how to create my own brushes... If I do it the way you´ve described, each wave will be one seperate layer, right? Because that´s how I would like it to be.

Here's the basic idea...

Use the Pen Tool to make a wave. (I would make several)

Turn the tool path into a selection by right clicking and choosing make selection.

Fill the selection with black..

Then save as a brush preset.

Next use the new brush (brushes) to make the abstract.

One layer

In this example I just changed the colors and the opacity levels of the second two layers.

I´m blown away by the helpfulness in this forum! I remember that I received
