Hello,

I have been given a photo to "fix" but the usual tools, PS red eye, desaturate, etc. do not give a very convincing result. The subject has blue eyes.

Any help on a good method to use would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

That image is no real help to you at all, everything is blown out by it.

IMHO, your best bet is to find some similar eyes (without retinal reflections) and blend them in over the image you are working with. As Paul said, there are problems with this image (at least this section) ranging from blown channels to lens flare extending the retinal reflection into veiling flare over the iris and sclera.

Tom

PS - The grain / noise and softness of this image is also problematic. If this is someone who is easily available for another picture, simply have a better one taken.

Thanks both to Paul and Tom Mann for input.
The photo is one of those unique occasions where the cheapest point and shoot camera was there captured the scene.
