I need help trying to do this type of Brush effect ?
the red and white brushes strokes going down I like to know what type of brush does this type of effect or what was used to do it ?
cause I tried all the brushes the comes with photoshop and I still couldnt come close to making the same brush stroke effect at all.
does any one know how to do this type of brush stroke effect ? any advice would help ..

It seems to be a mix of a determined brush and a texture applied to the strokes... some kind of wood.

Paint in plain color and apply a wood texture like this as the mask. The texture must be black and white.

The stripes were made from just a few brushes.

If you compare the images, you will find similarities and duplicates in the brushes.

They may be from a set similar to this one: http://www.freevectors.net/details/Grunge+Illustrator+Brushes

Or they could have been custom made. It's really hard to tell with these types of effects because there are too many possibilities.
