Changing Pattern to solid

I know this is possible but there is no tutorial on how to do it what I want to do is change the fabric on the chair or make it into a solid keeping the curves and shadow there was a post
that showed an example but didnt explain ..The last picture is from the post I saw doesnt explain how to do it just the image
I would be very grateful for someone to help me with this

Try this method

First thing you need to do is open the Fabric image and go to Edit, Define Pattern and call it whatever you want

I just used the quick selection tool to select the chair fabric instead of using the color range method

You can also add a Hue/Saturation layer to change the color if you like

Ive gotten the same thing as you to but i was wondering if its possible to get the pattern that is on the chair off because you can still see the first pattern/fabric

You can, but it might be a bit of a chore.
Here's how I have done it in the past. Hopefully someone else has a better idea!!!!
