No change here, either. On my machine, it takes 5 seconds to start and load a small directory of images, and that's right after a cold reboot of the computer to ensure that there is nothing resident in cache.
Check to see if it might be hunting for networked drives / shares that currently aren't available, or even external drives that might be slow to spin up. I've see that significantly slow it up.
