Yup ... I bet we all have received comments like that.

Other comments that show the general public's lack of understanding of the crafts of photography and retouching include:

"You must have a very good camera."

"Why can't you sharpen my photo? They do it all the time on the crime shows."

etc. etc.

People almost always ask me how long I worked on a composite.
My usual anwer is: between 30 min. and 30 hours.

I love the people who think taking really blurry and out of focus photos of their eye makes them a photographer. That's the one that really gets me.

but I agree, the general populace are quite misinformed as to the effort and time that goes into some of the masterpieces we create, I once spent around 72 cumulative hours, possibly more, texturing a head model by hand, only to have my misinformed friend think i took a photo and used it.
