Hi! I have this drawing reflection.png
My objective is to add a reflection to the water (in black) of what is above it.
Simply flipping the image doesn't work here and I really don't know how to make the reflection. To generalize the question, how do I pass from this :
Untitled-3.pngto this : Untitled-2.png?

It is easy with rectangular forms but I'm clueless when it is with curves.
It there an easy way to do this?
Thanks.

Well, there's really not a simple way to do this.

I'll try an explain one of the ways I might try to do this.

You must first duplicate the original.

Make a selection of the lake and mask it off. (You may not need to do this)

Make a copy of the duplicate and flip it.
I would then use Free Transform to position it as close as I could.

Working on the duplicate layer, I would then make a selection.

Cmd/Cntrl + T to Transform that selection

Move the top of the selection upwards until it fills in the black area.

All that's left is a section that needs painting in.

Use the Brush Too to paint.

Now it's just a matter of either painting or using the warp function in free transform to make the rest match.

Lastly, you will need a copy of the lake layer.
Move it to the top of the layer stack.
Set this layer to soft light and lower it's opacity.

I did mine fast for demo purposes, but if you take your time it should turn out well.

Thank you very much ! Although your way might seem somewhat obvious to me now i hadn't thought of it x). I spent some time and made a reflection :

What do you think of it? Any ideas on how to make it better and more realistic?
Thanks :)

Nice work! maybe you can ad texture to that water or a filter of movement. But now as it is looks real to me!

Cheers!
