Hello to all,

I am in the process off making a book cover,
the goal is to emboss Hitler´s face on to a Nobel price.
I am having trouble to change the color and properties off his face to match the ones off the medal.
Any help would be much appreciated

Thank you very much

I would recommend getting rid of the face on the nobel prize and then free transform hitler's face to fit in line with the proportions of the body on the medal. I would then recommend using a blur to make hitlers image look more smooth in accordance to the medal. That is the way I would go about it first any way. Then I would sample colors from the medal and fill hitler's face in. Hope this helps.

Do a Google search for {photoshop 3d coin relief effect}.

You can start with:

https://photoshoptrainingchannel.com/realistic-coin-photoshop/

or possibly, http://www.psd-dude.com/tutorials/create-a-metal-coin-in-photoshop.aspx .

One important tip to make sure the original photo is lit in such a way that it shows the full 3D shape of the subject's head. You want the lights set up to give smooth contrast.

My second tip is that if there is too much grain in the photo, or even if the subject's skin texture is too rough, use a noise reduction filter to get rid of all that small-scale structure, but preserve the major sharp edges and shadows. Not doing this is exactly why Hitler's face looks like the cratered surface of the moon in your attempt.

HTH,
