Jersey Number Editing

I am a football coach with a very small photoshop background. I'm able to do simple things, but struggle with anything complicated. When we recruit, we want to send out offer pictures for all of the players. How would I change this jersey number to the recruits number... say #15? I'll probably have to make 40 or 50 different ones of these. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Jesse and welcome to PSG.

The good news is that this can certainly be done! And the less than good news is that it will require some work. If all the photographs of the players are different, then the following technique will have to be done for each.

The first thing you need to accomplish is a clean jersey. This means you will need to use the Clone stamp Tool to remove the old number and make the jersey a "clean slate". This in itself can be a challenge.

Next you will need to create a Displacement Map of the jersey. This will be needed to match the new number with the folds of the jersey.

Then you will have to match the text, stroke, etc., of the number, position it with the Move Tool, and apply the displacement map.

Here are some displacement map tutorials.

Note that the player number is also on the back of the helmet. To save some time and effort,
this could be deleted from the base figure
