Nice one!
Just a couple of observations:
Why make the rain stop on top of the wave?
Every item in the composite is crisp, except the rain being kind of rough and not layered.

Just my opinion...

Looks great. I must advise working a little more on cutting out your model. You have a visible white line on her leg which really shows on a darker background.

Thanks for sharing.

true, absolutely true, still can't figure how, I keep having those lines, no matter what method I use.

about the rain, for the other dear members, that's a personal choice

What I do is cut out roughly and then use refine edges. Then I have a black background and place the model I just cut out and refined on a layer above the black background so I can see anything white showing up. Zoom in and mask out anything you dont want showing up. This will make a nice tight render.

she was on a white background so I just used the magic wand tool with different streghts until I was more or less happy (but not happy enough :D)

Great advice by Inkz.

I personally wouldn't have used the magic wand (I tend to steer clear if I can) - if the figure was on a white background I would perhaps used a combination of channels and select by color range to isolate the background. Then inverted - and then reelect the dancer (Ctrl click on the layer thumbnail)- copy it to a new layer (Crtl + J) and then on the selections menu modify the selection by contracting by one pixel. You may find that this messes up the selection around the fine detail (such as hair and / or hands) and you can use masking to bring this back in from the duplicated layer.

I also agree.

I never use the the Quick Selection or the Magic Wand Tool unless its the most basic of selections that I don't feel are critical to the finished product. I use similar techniques as described by Inkz and Fred. My go to method is some form of alpha masking combined with the inverting technique and adjustment layers. I also use quick mask mode and the brush or it's older brother, a simple layer mask, the brush tool and a contrasting background layer. Once I have the layer mask close, I use refine mask (not edge) to clean it up further. If the BG color is solid, consistent, and light I will use color range.

Refine edge:

This video explains the basic principle of masking. Although the technique of creating the selection may vary, using refine edge/mask
and then making fine corrections by painting on the mask are some of the most commonly used techniques in creating masks.
