    Help (learning) with Panorama

I shot the photos on vacation, so I can't redo them now! I thought the perfect level panning was needed to make merging easier, before nice software that stitches automatically. But... maybe I should do a lens correction to the image before merging? (Does Photoshop's feature do that? I would...

    Help (learning) with Panorama

Tom, I did use PS's photomerge tool. That gave a bent picture, the horizon looking like a big smile. Then I used the Lens filter to un-bend it. What's wrong with the alignment of hand-held images that show up in this example image? (I shot two rows: left to right pan with the horizon in the...

    Help (learning) with Panorama

I've merged the original exposures into a panorama using PS's photo merge tool, and then used the Adaptive Lens filter to straighten it out. The merge gave a cup shape to the horizon. The Adaptive Lens filter wasn't as easy as expected, as just marking the horizon was not working and I could...

Print white areas as "no ink", please

No, I had to do the same thing today. I found that Epson has updated its driver and now has a "grayscale" checkbox on the printer options panel, thanks to popular demand. It looks better in that it doesn't try to reproduce a meaningless shade of ink from the original, but the printer still...

Bump: does the current Photoshop CC 2014 handle this?

Need help learning Content Aware tools

I've tried some simple object removal using content-aware patch, healing brush, and the old comfortable cloning stamp in color mode. I'm getting a loss of texture, looking like a shiny spot where the object was removed, or smudges. The effects differ with each choice of tool or technique, and...

Print white areas as "no ink", please

I meant that the black writing is some careful blend to match the dark areas of the original scan, or some profile correction. I want it to just use the Black. I don't think it should be necessary to have an absolutely perfect profile available in order to just print black on paper, with no...

Print white areas as "no ink", please

Photoshop CS6, Epson Photo R1900, Windows 7 I have some scans of sheet music that were emailed. After adjusting and editing the image, I need to print it. This is simply black marks on white background. I can even convert to Greyscale before printing. But, it insists on printing a color tint...

Does the forum software for photoshopgurus.com fully color managed?

That first statement is incomplete, as "RAW" doesn't care about the color space setting the in-camera JPEG conversion uses. The real gamut of the sensors varies with the camera model. The second statement is patently wrong. The page cited earlier explains the behaivor of modern browsers and...

Does the forum software for photoshopgurus.com fully color managed?

Er, just because it does convert to sRGB doesn't mean that it "marks" it in the final JPEG in some way other than embedding an ICC profile. Perhaps there are several such flags? My posted image, for example, shows AdobeRGB in the "file properties" but that FxIF tool says "uncalibrated", and...

"other" monitor ambiguous when you have >2.

Anyone know how I can get the "other" monitor display in LR to use the correct one? The UI is quite maddening.

Does the forum software for photoshopgurus.com fully color managed?

That's what I read. I'm now happily using Firefox with a Dell U2711 monitor in native (larger gamut than sRGB) mode.

    Brushes Tablet Pen ID

I bought a second stylus for my Wacom tablet, with the understanding that Photoshop would know they were different and remember the current settings for each one separately. They have different color tips for the human, and different RFID unique IDs for the computer. It's never done that...

"other" monitor ambiguous when you have >2.

Nobody has replied to http://forums.adobe.com/message/4888455#4888455 on Adobe's forum. The total lack of help there is why I looked for a better discussion venue, and found this place! The nearly instant reply on my editing tip question was quite refreshing, so I think I'll settle in. Thanks...

Does the forum software for photoshopgurus.com fully color managed?

Are you implying that there are two ways to indicate the color space on the JPEG file; i.e. a simple flag for common color spaces, without embedding an arbitrary profile? If so, what is the correct way to save (a copy) in PhotoShop to make sure it sticks? Or do you use another tool to go over...
