I assume you are talking about this image?
Essentially the different elements of this image have been put on different layers - that is the Background, the picture of Christ, the old lady and the text - Then different blending modes, opacity and masks have been used to create the final image.
If you do a search for each of the underlined words and include "Photoshop" as part of you search then you will find loads of tutorials on the different techniques.
