Hi all

Can someone please help solve a very frustrating problem I am having wrapping an image around a mug template.

I have created a rectangle, used the warp and brought in my image but when I create the clipping mask my image disappears. I thought I would be able to manipulate my image moving it around inside the warp outline.

Thank you in anticipation.

Hello and welcome to PSG.

An image is worth a thousand words. If possible, could you post a screenshot of your layers panel?

What color is your layer mask?

OK.........sorry, I had to reassess the situation.

In the first image I don't see a rectangle in the thumbnail. You are using a shape tool to create the rectangle (I can tell by the layer tag) but I think you have the Rectangle Tool set to path when it needs to be set to shape.

Note that in this example you can clearly see the yellow rectangle in the shape layers thumbnail...

So the layer mask works with a visible rectangle....

Just anothe quick observation, what belnding mode do you have the shape layer set to?

The problem I think your still going to have is that the lettering in the "Keep Calm" image is not going to change with a clipping mask, it will still be straight.

If your wanting the lettering to conform to the shape of the altered rectangle, you will have to use a smart object.

Create a rectangle the size you would like it to appear on the mug. Then convert it into a smart object.
Use Free Transform to to warp the rectangle into a shape that fits your mug.

Once your done, just double click your SO rectangle layer and add any image to it you desire. Close the file and save.
The image you added to the SO will now conform to the shape of the SO rectangle you created.

Watch this video and it will explain the process, just ignore the part about selecting the lamp posts.
